Family Living Today, in conjunction with RKT Publishing, LLC, is excited to announce the 2017-2018 Child Welfare and Development (CWD) Scholarship Award for Students Pursuing a Degree in Social Work.
This is a new scholarship that will be awarded annually in the amount of $1,000 to students pursing a bachelor’s degree in social work with an academic focus on child welfare at an accredited university.
According to Ken Lyons, a Family Living Today co-founder, “One of our goals at FLT is to help build a world where every child can grow up healthy, protected from harm or trauma and educated so they can reach their full potential, no matter who they are or where they were born. The CWD Scholarship Award is one way we can advance this mission, while also helping the next generation of child welfare professionals reach their academic goals.”
This scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate students pursuing a social work degree who intend to work in the field of child welfare. In addition to the academic requirements, applicants must also demonstrate a personal history of working with or on behalf of neglected or abused children.
“We’re looking for applicants who work hard in school, want to pursue careers in child welfare social work, and have demonstrated extracurricular experience working to protect traumatized children.” says Lyons.
