PlushBeds has made a name for itself by selling diverse mattresses that all come with a record number of eco-friendly, substance-free, and organic certifications. Currently, their product line includes latex mattresses, memory foam mattresses, sofa beds, and RV beds. The PlushBeds Natural Bliss is part of the company’s natural latex collection. Unlike PlushBeds’ other two latex mattresses, the Natural Bliss is vegan-friendly and completely free of animal products. Even more customizable than the Botanical Bliss, it offers four firmness options (from soft to extra-firm) and three thickness options. You can also get the mattresses in two different firmnesses, split down the middle, in the Queen, King, and Cal King sizes. All of this makes the Natural Bliss the most versatile mattress in PlushBeds’ latex line-up.

Like all PlushBeds mattresses, the Natural Bliss comes with free shipping and returns, a 100-night-trial, and a 25-year-warranty. Keep reading for our break-down of the mattress’ specs, pros and cons, performance, and ideal user. We’ll also compare it to the company’s other all-latex mattress, the Botanical Bliss.

Construction

The Natural Bliss is made of one to three layers of all-natural latex from two different sources, depending on what thickness option you choose. The 6’’ mattress contains one 6’’ layer of organic Dunlop latex. If you spring for the 8’’ mattress, then an additional 2’’ of organic Talalay latex gets put on top, and a second 2’’ layer of organic Talalay latex gets added to the 10’’ mattress. Since these layers aren’t glued down, you can rearrange the order of these layers in any way you like.

All of this is contained in a light-weight cover made of stretchy certified organic cotton. Because the Natural Bliss doesn’t contain any animal products, its fire barrier layer is made out of eco-friendly, plant-based fibers instead of wool.

As with the rest of PlushBeds’ line-up, all of these materials come with a number of purity certifications, including OEKO-TEX and GOLS, that guarantees it’s organic, eco-friendly, and made without harmful chemicals.

Firmness

The Natural Bliss comes in four different firmness levels: soft, medium, medium-firm, and ultra-firm. Soft means the mattress is very plush and bouncy, with plenty of cushioning for people to sink right in, and is great for lighter people. Medium strikes the perfect balance between soft and firm, and is a good choice for people of all sleeping positions and most weights. Medium-firm turns up the firmness, giving enough support for back and stomach sleepers while still having plenty of cushion, and firm is quite hard, enough to keep heavier sleepers supported.

If you get this mattress in Queen, King, and Cal King sizes, you can get the firmness split down the middle.

Natural Bliss Mattress Breakdown

In this section, we’ll answer the seven most frequently asked questions about the Natural Bliss’ performance. To learn more about how Bloom chooses and reviews mattresses, check out our methodology page.

Is it made from quality materials?

The latex used in the Natural Bliss is organic Talalay and Dunlop, which are the two most high-quality natural latexes you can find on the market. Meanwhile, the cover is made with certified organic cotton, while the fire barrier is made with eco-friendly and vegan plant-based materials. Like all beds in the PlushBeds line-up, the Natural Bliss comes with a high number of purity certifications that makes sure it’s chemical-free, organic, and eco-friendly, among other qualities.

How long will it last?

Because the Natural Bliss is made with high-quality materials, it should last you for quite some time. PlushBeds promises its mattresses will stick around for “as long as two or three conventional mattresses,” and reviews on the site go back six years. Additionally, PlushBeds offers a 25-year limited warranty, which means it will replace or repair your mattress for free the first 10 years and then for a fraction of the original price for the next 15.

How well does it conform to my body?

Memory foam is famous for how much it conforms to the body, but latex is actually just as good on this front. Because the foam in the Natural Bliss is made with two layers of all-natural organic latex, one Dunlop and one Talalay, it will keep your body contoured and “hugged” while still staying bouncy enough for sex.

Is the edge supportive?

Because they don’t have any metal keeping the edges up, latex and memory foam mattresses just won’t have as much edge support as your average innerspring mattresses. This means you should expect to sink at least a little when sitting at the edge of your Natural Bliss mattress. That said, the majority of reviewers said the Natural Bliss has great support throughout.

Does it sleep hot?

Like with other latex mattresses, you won’t have a problem with the Natural Bliss sleeping too hot. Unlike memory foam, latex doesn’t trap heat and naturally keeps you cool, and one of the first things a lot of reviewers mention is how cool the Natural Bliss stays throughout the night. Additionally, the vegan plant-based fire barrier and the organic cotton cover are both designed to be breathable, so you won’t have an issue with airflow.

Will it off-gas when it’s delivered?

At least a little bit of off-gassing, or the smell that sticks around for the first few hours to a few days when you first get your mattress, is to be expected with all latex mattresses. Because the Natural Bliss is made with all-natural and organic Talalay and Dunlop latex, both of which come with a high number of purity certifications that make sure they’re chemical-free, you should have way less off-gassing than mattresses made from synthetic latex. Additionally, any off-gassing that does pop up will be harmless, and no reviewers have mentioned any smells yet.

Will I feel my partner move during the night?

Even though latex conforms to your body, it keeps its bounce, so some people find latex mattresses isolate motion less well compared to ones made out of memory foam. This gets better with all-natural latex, and since the Natural Bliss is made with organic Talalay and Dunlop latex, you won’t have as much of an issue feeling your partner’s movements as you would with a synthetic latex mattress or one made with just innerspring coils. Also, no reviewers have mentioned any problems with motion transfer.

Who is Best Suited for a Natural Bliss Mattress?

Because the Natural Bliss is the most customizable mattress in PlushBeds’ latex line-up, it should accommodate just about every type of sleeper, regardless of sleeping position or weight—including those with special needs and preferences. Its firmness options span the entire spectrum of levels, from soft to extra-firm, so side, back, and stomach sleepers should all be able to find an option that works for them. Since you can adjust the thickness as well, people of below-average and above-average weights should also be able to find a height that supports them.

Like the other mattresses in PlushBeds’ latex line-up, the Natural Bliss is also great for couples. The layers of all-natural Talalay and Dunlop latex are both bouncy and motion-isolating, so while the mattress will keep your partner’s movements to their side of the bed, it won’t keep you bogged down when it’s time for sex. Additionally, you can get it in different firmnesses on each side of the bed in Queen, King, and Cal King sizes, so both you and your partner can customize the bed to suit your needs, without compromise.

Unlike PlushBeds’ other two mattresses, the Natural Bliss is great for vegans and people with wool allergies. Instead of wool, the mattress uses a plant-based fire barrier, and you won’t find any animal products in any of its layers. Its eco-friendly and sustainable certifications also make it a great choice for people who want to shop ethically. The latex is supportive and comfortable enough for people with orthopedic issues, while the green and non-hazardous certifications make sure it doesn’t have any allergens or harmful chemicals for people with sensitive skin.

PlushBeds Natural Bliss vs. PlushBeds Botanical Bliss Mattress

The main differences between the Natural Bliss and PlushBeds’ latex best-seller, the Botanical Bliss, are the customization options and the materials used. Think about the Natural Bliss like a vegan Botanical Bliss that’s more customizable. While the Botanical Bliss only offers medium and medium-firm options, you can get the Natural Bliss in soft, medium, medium-firm and extra-firm in most of its sizes. The Natural Bliss also offers a split-firmness option in Queen, while the Botanical Bliss only offers this in its King and Cal King sizes. Additionally, where the Botanical Bliss uses wool, the Natural Bliss uses a plant-based alternative and is entirely animal-product-free.

Besides that, the Natural Bliss and the Botanical Bliss are more or less the same when it comes to performance. They’re both cushioning, bouncy, and pressure-relieving enough for people who get back and joint pain when they sleep, and they’re both cooling and good for couples. The same purity certifications (besides wool) apply to both mattresses as well. Overall, we’d recommend the Natural Bliss for people who want the Botanical Bliss but are allergic to wool and/or don’t want to buy something with animal products in it, as well as those who want something softer or firmer than the typical medium and medium-firm options.

Ready to Buy a Natural Bliss Mattress?

Before you bring home a Natural Bliss mattress, take a moment to familiarize yourself with PlushBeds’ sleep trial, warranty, and shipping policies.

Sleep Trial

PlushBeds offers a 100-night sleep trial with all of its mattresses. Like with many other mattress companies, customers have to try out the mattress for at least 30 nights. (If you choose to return it before then, PlushBeds will subtract a $99 “accessories” fee from your refund.) After that, and before the 100 nights are up, customers can return the bed for a full refund, as long as it isn’t stained, dirty, or damaged by smoke. To get a full refund, customers just need to box the mattress, and PlushBeds will take care of the pickup.

Warranty

PlushBeds offers a 25-year limited warranty with all of its mattresses. It works like this: For the warranty’s first 10 years, PlushBeds gets to decide whether it will replace or fix your mattress for free, as long as the defects fall under the policy. (Examples of things that aren’t covered: mattresses used in unsanitary conditions, mattresses used on inappropriate foundations and box springs, transportation charges for return and shipping, etc.) Then, for the 15 years left on the warranty, PlushBeds will repair or replace your defects for an extra fee. This fee starts at 50 percent of how much you paid for the mattress and goes up 3 percent each year. For more details on how PlushBeds’ warranty works, and the defects it covers, check out the policy page.

Availability and Delivery

You can buy the Natural Bliss straight from the PlushBeds website, as well as partners and retailers like Amazon and HomeDepot. We’d recommend you buy it from PlushBeds directly, though, because the 100-night sleep trial doesn’t apply if you buy it from other places.
